Oh my. Well, Basecamp would be more for tracking creative projects, while Trac would be entirely for programing-based products. (Things that deal mostly with text.) Though I could see using Trac for sophisticated creative types who don't mind using a Subversion GUI client (command line usage is probably too much for most people). We do use Trac internally for marketing/web development, the former of which is more creatively-oriented, and the latter more programmingly-. But, generally, Basecamp is for non-programmers, Trac for programmers.
