I have created a simple script in /etc/rc.d/init.d to start tracd at boot time, and set it up with chkconfig. It also let's me stop, start, and restart tracd with /sbin/service tracd start , etc.
It's working fine, except I'd like to get it to echo the [ OK ] message I get when using /sbin/service for things like httpd and mysqld. I've been looking through those startup scripts, but cannot yet figure out how that is done. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
