It's exactly the opposite for me. If it was 2 days ago, I want to know exactly when -- morning? afternoon? Friday, or was that Saturday? But if it's nine months ago, or four years ago (yes, we have tickets that old), it's very nice to be able to see the date from 30,000 feet. Not weighing in one way or the other, really; configurable is always nice.
