Thank you Christian for your response :-) I guess it will have to stay the
"as-it-turns-out-not-so-dirty" way ;-) Though I'm still open for suggestions
:-)

As I only build the python bindings, /opt/subversion-1.x.y might not be the
best place and I have to rethink where to install them. Maybe somewhere
under /opt/python-2.5.2?
