Perhaps this is just the memory issue discussed earlier. Let's just check to be sure. I installed tracker (0.6.3) a few days ago (ubuntu 7.1 Gutsy Gibbon) and it seemed to be working fine in terms of resource use (few CPU cycles & max memory under 6megs). Then today it suddenly started swinging between 40% and 95% of CPU cycles and jumped up to 18.5megs of RAM. When I asked for status it replied with a question mark as pasted below.
