It seems that the best course of action for me right now is to wait until there's support for renaming files and at least a rough consensus about the persistence 3rd party metadata, right? Since all my concerns are centered about the persistance of my metadata, any solution I come up with right now would probably be either in conflict or obsoleted in the (near?) future...
