What settings did you use, and what program? I didn't get anything that
was readable, only some symbols, etc.

Your output looks like it would work.

What I'd really like to do is connect it with my Kenwood D7-AG HT as a
portable unit.

just picked one up on a Field Day Austion and am wondering what to do with
it. It is apparently serial but has a USB cable with what i assume is a
level converter in it. I can connect (sometimes) with Hyperterminal but
cannot read anything intelligent.
