I asked a month or so ago about the Nuvi 350 connected to my Alinco DR-135 with a T2-135 board not displaying all of the course/speed/altitude data from received packets. Scott responded that the Nuvi won't show that data when the received packets are from a mic-E or Base91 transmission. OK, that's just the way it is with the Nuvi. My question is, however, can that information be extracted and displayed on the Nuvi some other way? The information is tin the packet afterall.
I ask because with a friend I've recently flown a couple of high altitude balloons with a Kenwood HT and an OT+. That's mic-E and I can't see the altitude nor the course / speed. The Nuvi displays very well the location of the balloon over the ground just not the 'nice to know' altitude info. We work around this by using a Kenwood D7 HT which does show the wanted info.
