Gentlemen,
About a month ago there was several posts about which was the better trackers.
Several people voiced their findings after comparing several common types.

If I remember correctly most people were more than happy with the Tracker 2.

However few people voiced an opinion as to why one was better than the other.
I think the only comment was that a sound card is the best because
there is more digital bits available.

Someone said the Tracker 2 was far better than the T2-135.

The reason for this email :-

I am about to attempt to make several APRS repeaters by using Ex
commercial two way radios and a Tracker 2.
However the TNC has to fit inside the radio.
This requires using the T2-135. I will have to design a PCB with the
SMD T2-135 mounted on it in such a way that it fits in spare space
within the Radio.

Comparing the published circuits of both the Tracker 2 and the T2-135
the only difference that can effect the sensitivity of the TNC is the
Tracker 2 has an input filter/limiter that is not in the T2-135. I
was hoping that, if I add the filter that is the same as the
Tracker2, this would then make them equal.

Is my assumption correct?

Has anyone else used the T2-135 with other radio types other than the Alinco?
If so did you encounter any problems and how did you overcome them?

Thanks

David
