I use a 9 volt NiMH radio control pack I got from Radio Shack for $15 or so with charger. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3999878 I added a set of power poles to the pack - mark them plainly as 9 volt output only. Not sure of the total life but it has lasted several hours during drills
