It's still mysterious. The only thing I can imagine is that there are
non-printable characters in the connection buffer. I've seen that on
yary...rg your shell echoes the commands, and Tramp applies the usual
countermeasures. Maybe something went wrong there.

Could you, please, send me as attachment the full content of the
buffer *tramp/plink [EMAIL PROTECTED] when the error happens? The last
lines of *debug tramp/plink [EMAIL PROTECTED] would be helpful as well,
just to see how Tramp did fail. I need them _as-they-are_, in order to
check my suspicion.
