OK, Tramp cannot send any password because it is not prompted for by ssh. I do not use OSX, so I cannot test anything. However, it looks to me like kinit is setting some environment Emacs is not aware of. What happens, if you start Emacs from the same shell after you have called kinit? Alternatively, another method Tramp offers is krlogin, a "kerberized" login.
