Hi Ben,
It has, after decades of resistance, become fairly easy[1] to run
and openssh’s sshd service on window. I’m embarrassed to ask
this,
but does this august gathering have any sage advice about how to
leverage that via tramp?
Well, I also resist to use MS Windows. From time to time I'm urged to
do
it, answering Tramp questions ...
now i’m both embarrassed and i feel guilty.
…a proper shell on MS Windows. If you
know where to find such a shell (a file name), we could try to
convince
Tramp to go there.
I was able to install one, and I took a stab at using it:
(add-to-list 'tramp-methods
'("wssh"
(tramp-login-program "/tools/msys64/usr/bin/sh.exe")
(tramp-login-args (("-l" "%u") ("-p" "%p") ("%c")
("-e" "none") ("%h")))
(tramp-async-args (("-q")))
(tramp-remote-shell "/tools/msys64/usr/bin/sh.exe")
(tramp-remote-shell-login ("-l"))
(tramp-remote-shell-args ("-c"))))
But no joy
I bet i’m doing something obviously wrong there, but if not I’ll get
back to digging
on this sooner or later. Thanks ! - ben
