Got it. Sorry that it took such long.

Well, the buffer is cleaned up indeed, after such an error. For a good
reason. So the error message is misleading. I believe, we shall shorten
the error message to "Timeout reached", w/o mentioning the connection
buffer. The connection buffer is still displayed for up to 30 seconds,
people will see what happened.
