It worked flawlessly.
What I did:
1. Evaluate:
(require 'tramp)
2. Evaluate:
(defun tramp-recompile-elpa ()
[…]
2. M-x tramp-version: 2.5.0.3
3. M-x tramp-recompile-elpa
4. Restart Emacs.
5. Open a remote location, success!
6. Verify successfully that the `.elc` files in
`~/.emacs.d/elpa/tramp-2.5.0.3` are fresh.
