When a provider sends an HI segment with multiple procedures (up to 12 procedures can be sent on the HI segment) as part of the 278 request, how does the UMO respond regarding the outcome of each individual procedure, assuming that the UMO may want to approve some of the HI procedures, but disallow others. There is only one HCR segment per service level. Would the UMO indicate that a particular procedure is disallowed by modifying the appropriate HInn-6 Procedure Quantity field to zero on the 278 response to the provider?
We have several other issues and questions relating to the 278 - too numerous to list here. Would anybody who is well along with the 278 analysis like to put their heads together with us and figure out reasonable answers where appropriate. Thanks much.... Thuky
