Mimi, My original understanding of the taxonomy codes is that they were going to be used to indicate the type of procedure (line of service) but now it appears it is going to be used more for billing purposes tied to a physician. I would talk to your reimbursement people to see how they are going to determine given a particular procedure how the doc will be reimbursed to determine taxonomy codes and if taxonomy will be used for this purpose. Obviously some docs can do various procedures.
