i'm one of the developers of gpsd which is hosted at berlios. not long
ago, we had a few rough weeks which caused us to do some initial
investigation of alternate project hosting.

their web server uses a wildcard certificate not signed by a known CA... scary.

mailing list archives are .... sub-optimal. they don't seem to allow
robots which means you can't search the lists with google or whatever.
we solved that by asking MARC to archive our lists.

their network seems to be slow; it could have something to do with the
fact that my packets have to go all the way across north america and
then all the way across the atlantic ocean.

we've had a number of issues with their disks filling up causing svn
to not work any more. they get fixed eventually.

as berlios seems to be a side project of an academic institution,
we're somewhat at the mercy of their schedule. during exam season or
holidays there probably won't be anyone minding the store.

i'm very grateful to berlios for the services they offer; there are
just a few observations i've made in the time i've been using them for
project hosting.

GDB has a 'break' feature; why doesn't it have 'fix' too?
