To tell the truth, it's pretty close to that for the rest of us,
too. (: My personal opinion is that the whole autotools suite is far too
complex for 99% of the projects it's used with, including transcode (who's
going to run transcode on, say, Ultrix?)--but unfortunately, it tends to be
quicker to hack little changes into something that already works, more or
less, than to redo the whole thing from scratch. Maybe one of these days
I'll see if I can get any use out of my IRC Services configure script
instead...
