I am still trying to get this work with little progress. I noticed a weird
error message when I used gtranscode for the same files. When I select the
file to be transcoded, usually the left hand side of the gtranscode dialog
box displays the result of the probe for that file. In my case, for both
files this area displays the following error message:

"ERROR: File does not exist!"

When I try to transcode the file regardless of this message, transcode returns
the previous error message I posted (...unable to import data).

I can tcprobe the file. I even used avifix as I reported earlier to play with
the file. Avifix successfully modifies the file, although it reports
segmentation fault as an error message at the end.

I re-installed transcode and I transcoded other avi files to see if my version
of transcode is corrupted, but it seems to work fine with other files.
Again, the two files I have trouble with are the latest files recorded with
my DV camera. I have not encountered this problem before. These files
without transcoding, can be viewed with kaffeine and mplayer without any
problem.

Any suggestion is extremely appreciated.

Thanks,

Hakan Duran
