Because the 1.1.x releases are taking places from a branch which is not the HEAD one (but is the transcode-1_1 one). This feature is scheduled for the new 1.2.x branch. Backporting the new drifting correction code is not yet planned, but it could be feasible. A word of warning: because the slow-paced, on progress architectural changes ongoing on HEAD, it is currently DISCOURAGED to use HEAD snapshots those days. Things will change as soon as I'll commit the code I'm working on (NMS round 3), and HEAD will become usable (and encouraged!) again.
