I think Palm covers this pretty well in their documentation. The essence is to use two different user names to keep them apart. If you intend to synch both devices with the same data you are asking for a night mare from which you will never recover. What aspect are you seeking to keep "both in service". Did you get a TREO and donate the old PDA to your wife? :-)
