Last Summer I tried usbmodem to connect from this Mac Book Pro Intel using my
Verizon Treo 650. I could never get it to work. Alas, the old Windoze
Toastshiba laptop did it perfectly, but that machine died and I've switched to
all-Mac.

Some weeks later, a Verizon sales guy at a kiosk told me Verizon blocked such
use of the Treo 650 and that it violated their service contract.

Does anyone have any further info or thoughts on this subject Sometimes the
only connection should be using the Treo as a modem -- slow, but useful.

Thanks.
