Merry Christmas all! I must have successfully set up EAS on 20 phones in my company. Now, fed up with the flaky connections of the HotSync drivers, I decided to set it up for myself. I had avoided doing it because I get way too much email on my work account to want it on my phone, but I decided to do it so that I could more reliably sync my contacts and calendar and to be able to do it away from the office.
Just my luck, the contacts don't sync. they pretend they do for about 5 seconds, but they don't. ======== OK. I started writing the above over the long weekend. I had done one, maybe two, successful syncs. Then, mail would sync, a calendar and contacts sync would start, last about 5 second and do nothing without an error message. Frustrating because I had take a couple of hours to delete close to 2000 duplicates, deceased, and otherwise obsolete contacts from my desktop and wanted to sync the leaner contacts list to my phone. I get to work, and give it another try from the contacts app and boom, everything syncs fine, repeatedly. Seems like when its not working is when I do a "sync all" from versamail, and the little circle spins in the bottom right of the screen. Worked when I did a "sync contacts" from the contacts app and got the progress dialog. What is happening? Another thing. After syncing a lot of changes, I get like a 5 minute (literally) white screen when switching apps that returns to normal after a few switches. Normal? I figure it is creating or updating indexes. Last. Is there any way to control EAS the way one controls hotsync? I refer to things like 'desktop overwrites handheld' andd stuff. -- -- artAlexion sent unsigned from webmail interface
