I just got my Pre today, and I am trying to transfer data from Palm Desktop
(v4.2, used with Centro). It's not working. Here's what happens:
I download the Data Transfer Assistant. I start it and accept the terms of
service. It asks whether I want to transfer from Palm Desktop or Outlook. I
choose Palm Desktop. The next screen says that I have multiple profiles in
Palm Desktop, and asks me to select one from the dropdown. However, the
dropdown is empty (no profiles listed in it). There's nothing I can do except
go back, or quit. If I quit, then try running it again, it immediately says
that I don't have either Palm Desktop or Outlook installed. Once this has
happened, it get the same result ("No compatible application") every time, even
after rebooting.
Thinking this was a quirk on my PC, I tried this whole process on my laptop
(which I also sync my Centro to) and got the exact same result (first time, it
starts working, but no profiles listed. Second time, it says Palm Desktop is
not installed).
Help!!!
