In todays reading Luke we read of the story of the rich young ruler who asked what he shall do to inherit eternal life. Jesus told him t sell all he has and follow him, but he would not. This teaching, in my view shows us that we ought to die to self, take up our cross and follow Christ to inherit eternal life for the life we live and the possessions we have are not our own but for the kingdom. It goes on to say, 'there is no man that has left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children for the Kingdom's sake who shall not recieve manifold more in the present time, and in the world to come.' Luke 18 29-30 wow we are shown here that we shall recieve with the same measure with which we have forgone as we follow christ and do his will. Let us strive to make our lives count for others and the Kingdom and not just for ourselves.
