Good morning good people,

The journey continues and today, we talk about debt.

Paul does say “owe no many anything.” Romans 13:8.

Don’t go any deeper into debt! With the advent of the US dollar in
our economy, credit is back!!! Many retailers, car dealers and even
service providers have started to offer different forms of credit.
Good news, now you can get furniture worth thousands by jus paying in
installments. Very few people understand how this works. Take time
before you do the deal, check the interest rate and what you will end
up paying over the credit period. This will give you actual cost of
your purchase, holding time value of money constant. Now with that
information, you are in a better place whether to opt for cash or
credit. Also desist from uncontrollably borrowing to spend. If ever
you borrow, it must be to create more value rather than just spend.

Many people get deep into credit and debt without noticing it. If you
find yourself in a hole, the first step to getting out is to stop
digging. Many times it’s easy to not realize how much your actually
charging on your credit cards and Zimswitch each month. If this is
the case, it might be a good idea for you to simply put your credit
cards away and only pay cash for the items you buy. This way you will
maintain better control over how much your spending and if you can’t
pay cash for something then you just don’t buy it. Also resort to
getting your cash at the bank, over the teller, instead of ATM, it is
cheaper that way. You’ll never get out of debt if you keep charging
everything.

Most importantly, work hard and pray harder to get yourself out of
debt, then start building upwards.

Regards,

Simanga
