Sorry to hear about your EAGLE frustrations.

As for your question on tools, I would like to suggest you take a look at 
AirTable (https://airtable.com).  It is a very powerful combination of a CRM 
tool, a spreadsheet and a database.  I am using it to track my deployed units 
and the maintenance renewal dates as well as key customer contacts.
