Hi Gals and Guys. Just a note to explain my situation. On 8/30 I was at Duke ER, moved to the medical ICU, then to "the floor" while being treated for a strep infection in my blood causing septic shock and extremely low BP. Turns out the infection has grown little tutus on the wires of my pacemaker, and antibiotics cannot reach the nooks and crannies. The pacemaker has to come out: a nontrivial operation. Target is. Wednesday. Then some time later I'll move to a rehab hospital near home. A hand and foot injury from a fall is the last thing on the list. I'm hoping to be home within a couple weeks.
