Runlevel 5 in RH Linux is for bringing up Xwindows by default (i.e.- Graphical login).
Runlevel 4 is reserved for site customization. Runlevel two is where networking and such gets started. Generally machines don't run in Runlevel 2, they just "travel through" it to get to Runlevels 3,4 or 5 on the way up.
