here's an extension of the partitioning advice, which i've used
successfully through several incarnations of 1000plus.com now... two HDs,
one (relatively) small - say, 3 gig - and one (relatively) large.
i do a /boot-and-/ install on the small drive, then mount my large drive
as /home - that way if i need to switch computers, i just build a new
small OS drive in the new computer and swap in my data drive, or if my OS
drive dies, i just replace it.
