I seem to have heard somewhere about a Debian knockoff that catered specifically to amateur radio enthusiasts. Given the venue, anyone burning CD's might find it worthwhile to check into that.

I can burn some Knoppix, RH.8 and Mandrake 9.0 disks and drop them in the

I have 4 burners in the house that i can put to work this weekend.

I can print some labels for them also. I'll put the Trilug web address on
the labels with anything else anyone an think of.

Subject: [TriLUG] Volunteers Needed

Hi folks,

TriLUG has decided to put together a booth at the Raleigh Amateur
Radio Society Hamfest coming up on Sunday, April 13th, 2003
(http://www.rars.org/hamfest/). The plan is to do things similar
to what we did at the Lulu Tech Circus (have a table where we tell
people about linux and burn linux CDs for people at a small cost to
cover media). To do this, however, we need volunteers to man the
table. The LUG can pay for up to 4 volunteers to man the table,
two in the morning and two in the afternoon. Note that this offer
is on a first come/first served basis (by e-mailing me at
[EMAIL PROTECTED]).

I think this is a good opportunity to let more people know about
TriLUG. Hamfests like these normally attract people with a wide
range of technical skills. Many of them have heard of Linux but
may not know that much about it. This is our target audience.

Also, it goes well with the April meeting. :-)

So, if you'd like to volunteer to man a TriLUG table at the Raleigh
Hamfest, please e-mail me ([EMAIL PROTECTED]).

We also need people to help put together CD sets beforehand. We'd
like to offer both new Redhat and Mandrake releases along with the
latest Knoppix. We'll probably offer RH and Mdk for a suggested
donation of $5 and Knoppix for a suggested donation of $1 (since
it fits on 1 CD). Anyone who is willing to donate a) blank CDs
or b) time on their CD burner would be very appreciated.

Thanks very much,
Tanner Lovelace
