Unfortunately, yes. We can't offer you DSL unless you have a BellSouth, Sprint, or Verizon phone line. We can of course do business quality services ala T1 service, but that's probably not the price range you're considering.

I guess that leaves out the folks up here in Heritage Wake Forest. Our
phone company is CTC, with the internet service actually provided by
VNET. Actually the service hasn't been too bad other than the way they
blackhole "spam" sources like yahoo, and other interesting mailing
lists.

The other interesting side-effect of the CTC deal is that we used to
show up in some of the on-line phone directories as being in Concord, NC
despite having a 919 area code, and a Wake Forest zipcode.
