This is getting a bit old. I now have tomcat running (I can go to
http://ipaddress:8180) and see the default tomcat page but NOWHERE can
I find tomcat4.conf (or any variation therein) that I need to edit per
the OpenNMS instructions (btw, http://ipaddress:8180/opennms) doesn't
bring up the opennms app, even after trying out of pure desperation to
run the installtion scripts).

find / . -print | grep tomcat4.conf
/var/lib/dpkg/info/tomcat4.conffiles
/var/lib/tomcat4/conf
/var/lib/tomcat4/conf/server.xml
/var/lib/tomcat4/conf/web.xml
/var/lib/tomcat4/conf/tomcat-users.xml
/var/lib/tomcat4/conf/jk2.properties
/var/lib/tomcat4/conf/catalina.policy
/usr/share/tomcat4/conf

Does debain not use .conf and use the server.xml file instead? A
quick grep -i of server.xml shows no line for JAVA_HOME.
