Position: Sales/Support Engineer

Avanton, Inc. currently seeks Sales/Support Engineers in our Raleigh
Office. The Sales Engineer is an integral part of both the sales and
support organizations and demands a high energy professional. In this
position you will work closely with sales representatives, sales
managers, partners, and prospective customers to prove that Avanton
products can provide their network security needs. You will also
work in a post-sales support role to help with configuration issues
and answering technical questions.
In addition, you will:
*Participate on sales conference calls and prospect visits, doing
product demonstrations, and working with prospects at both a
technical and business level to show how Avanton solutions can
provide value to them.
* Work with sales reps to strategize on sales approaches to develop
business
* Give conference presentations which showcase Avanton’s product.
* Work independently and or as a vital member of a team.
* Instruct and coach sales staff on technical aspects of Avanton
products.
* Work with customers in a post-sales support role.
* Provide technical training for Partners and Customers.
* Provide feedback to the development team based on customer
requirements.
Requirements include:
*5+ years of experience in development, pre-sales support, or real
world use of network security solutions.
* Possess a solid understanding of network security issues and
solutions.
* Good understanding of computer hardware and operating systems,
including Linux and MS Windows, and additional knowledge of network
infrastructure devices (Routers, switches, firewalls, etc).
* Fully developed time management, multi-tasking, and coaching skills.
* Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.
* Strong business acumen.
* Experience working with or assisting end users, either in a help
desk or consulting capacity {or similar}.
Desired:
* Background in Network Security, or a strong network/systems
management background
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
* Able and willing to travel (minimal)
