Dane,

Welcome! Magnus mentioned the size of the group, I believe that 75 folks is not uncommon for a monthly meeting, someone will surely correct me if I'm off. ;') By and large the group is great, like all collections of humans, it's kind of dysfunctional at times, but all said it's a great bunch.

The whole ACC basketball thing fades pretty quickly come April, then things get back to "normal". Making fun of the way others cook pigs, the way others talk, and so on. ;')

A few things to keep in mind:
   - Let them rant on about March Madness, it'll pass, does every year.
   - Barbecue is a noun, not a verb, and it's made from Pig, not Cow.
- Prepare for a Cholesterol raising experience, look up fatback if you need proof

Seriously, I moved here just about 5 years ago and wouldn't move back to the frozen North country.

Hi trilug,

I'm planning a move to the triangle area this summer and wanted to check
out the linux community. I am currently the IT department for Olney
Friends School, a small boarding school in Ohio. We're pretty much an
all linux shop. Debian on file/print/intranet servers, Debian
derivatives like Libranet and Ubuntu on the desktop, shorewall and
coyote firewall routers, and CentOS web/email hosting.

Just wanting to say 'hi',

Dane
