On the subject of Awstats, could someone explain the fundamental
concept? Is this a program that I install on my machine at home or
is this something that I upload to my account at the ISP? Then how
do I access the stats?
A long time back I started out on the project of getting Awstats,
went to Sourceforge and started reading, trying to figure out what to
do. There was a lot of complicated info but no basic explanation of
the fundamental concept and where I was supposed to be installing it.
(Maybe there is a better explanation there now.) I think I then
hunted around the web and didn't find anything else too user friendly.
So, being short on time I opted for using the free Statcounter site,
which is pretty good but only saves and displays the last one hundred
hits to a site unless you sign up for a paid subscription.
Is there an Awstats for Dummies site? Or Awstats for smart people
who are already trying to do way more than they should be doing and
don't have time for cool computer projects unless someone has spelled
it out in a-b-c steps?
