Monta Vista actually runs on a LOT of embedded and Point Of Sale systems.
I'm personally aware of several thousand units from a former employer of
mine running Monta Vista, which handle cell phone geolocation services for
911 dispatchers.  Certainly life & death kind of stuff, and very much
trusted to Linux.
