I am running the imap server that installs with Mandriva by default.  Please
forgive my ignorance as to what version it is.

equation.  What are you using for an IMAP server?  Postfix is
only an MTA (Mail Transfer Agent).  It only handles getting mail
to a users mailbox (and actually delegates the last part to whatever
you're using).  To get the e-mail to the user through squirrelmail
you need an IMAP server.
