Jason, The Zimbra folks are very helpful. It is a replacement for Exchange and is commercial open source. I haven't deployed it though. I also use Web Calendar although I'd like to see a few more improvements such as a nicer listing when we have multiple simultaneous events. I find it much more appropriate than Exchange for its being made for the web and external web consumption. Other things to check out are PHP iCalendar (phpicalendar.net) as well as the groupwares: E-Groupware has calendaring but also can integrate with Exchange through the eGWOSync plugin. I'm not sure if that integration includes with Exchange calendars.

yeah, im trying to help the sysadmin at my church.. he uses exchange and his users are getting flooded with spam . If he wants effective spam busting, he must spend beaucoup $$$. Ive already got a qmail server set up there that scans wich clamd and uses crm114 that does a much better spam busting job that the stuff he can buy for $0. But he clings to the exchange mainly because of the calendar stuff.. *shrug* Jason On Fri, Jan 26, 2007 at 09:21:57AM -0500, Byarlay, Wayne A. wrote: > I would also be interested to know if any of the new cool open-source > solutions have better rulesets for handling e-mail. exchange / outlook > sucks!! their message rule routing system is so crippled, I cannot > effectively flag and categorize spam/work/home e-mail.
