My jdk's are set to the standard: virtual/jdk virtual/jre
The new dependency on java 1.6 happened gradually as I did updates - first for just a few packages, then for world. The jdk section in my package.keywords does not mention jdk 1.6 I assume that new packages are arriving with dependencies on jdk 1.6. I'd rather stick with 1.5, but right now I can't do security updates.
