I guess you mean Gnome 2.30.

The policy of Ubuntu (which I think Trisquel follows also in this case) is  
not to make such upgrades in the same release.

In Trisquel 4.0 (the beta of which I am running on my machine right now) the  
gnome version is 2.30.
