I'm having trouble with .OGV playback on my desktop computer running Trsiquel 4.0 (using the openchrome driver). Gnome-MPlayer shows lots of blocks, Totem shows a distorted image and VLC shows a black screen. SMPlayer plays the file, but it isn't included in the repositories (I installed it via a PPA). I tried this video: http://balance.fsf.org/video/lp2010-sat-rms+awards.ogv.

Also, on my laptop (Lenovo 3000 N100) video playback isn't very good. Only SMPlayer seems to work respectfully on Trisquel 4.0 (Gnome-MPlayer is stuck playing frames and Totem doesn't play a smooth image). I changed the driver to nouveau in xorg.cong.vesa (and removed the .vesa in the name). Should I mess around with other options like nv? In 4.5 the video seems better (even using vesa), however Gnome-MPlayer complains about something related to VDPAU which isn't supported by my Nvidia card.

Also, my battery on the laptop doesn't work (it takes less than 10 minutes to discharge), but I can use the laptop by connecting it to the electricity. Should I worry or can I continue using the laptop this way for good?
