I can't try out the live USB on this laptop as it belongs to someone else and I have already gotten into trouble for using Live Linux on this system. I think I've done more than enough by buying "supported" hardware. Not sure how I'm gonna get out of this one...
dmesg seemed to indicate detecting my non-Free BCM4312 card, but NOT my
NetGear one. This is despite BOTH cards showing up when I expand the Network
Manager applet. Beyond that, I didn't see anything relevant (I simply
human-read dmesg)
