My first conclusion was an emphatic no, due to the discussion in this thread,
http://trisquel.info/en/856-wifi-con-intel-3945
However, that was 2009, so I thought I'd ask if anyone knows of any progress
made in a libre replacement for the proprietary firmware.
It's picked up fine by the kernel, from dmesg,
[ 7.753528] iwl3945: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG/BG Network Connection
driver for Linux, in-tree:s
[ 7.753533] iwl3945: Copyright(c) 2003-2010 Intel Corporation
...
with no future errors.
and in lspci,
03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan]
Network Connection (rev 02)
NetworkManager "thinks" it sees it, but when I toggle the wireless switch on
my laptop, NetworkManager toggles from "disconnected" to "device not ready"
under the 'wireless' section.
Thanks for any help.
