ZaReason does not sell free software compatible laptops. By chance everything
*might work* with any machine you buy. The laptop you bought actually does
not work perfectly with Trisquel or any GNU/Linux distribution. There are a
few minor issues that have yet to be worked out.
There was a very high risk the system you bought would fail to be
sufficiently compatible too. They are clearly selling hardware which is not
compatible with free software. From graphics to wifi you may have ended up
with a system that largely didn't work.
There is another company that the FSF is endorsing that doesn't work with
free software. Hopefully that will be fixed soon. I'm not really sure how
that happened. They actually ship laptops with a free distribution although
the wifi cards and graphics in them are a problem. I guess when nobody sells
free software compatible systems a company which sells systems with free
software is whom you endorse. In this case the company sold systems where you
couldn't/can't replace either the graphics or wifi cards as the system ship
with digital restrictions. These systems will never work either as the
chipset manufacturers have been uncooperative in producing free software
drivers and firmware- or making available the needed information to do so.
There is a reason our offerings are minimal. There aren't that many chipsets
or combination of chipsets that work with free software operating systems.
