VLC 2.0 official PPA is only available for Ubuntu 11.10.
The Trisquel 5 is based on Ubuntu 11.04, but you can install the unstable version (2.1).
In Terminal: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:videolan/master-daily sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install vlc I tested and it worked perfectly.
