tar xf linux-libre-3.4-gnu.tar.xz
cd linux-3.4
make menuconfig (to edit and save the kernel .config file)
INSTALL_MOD_STRIP=1 make deb-pkg (this can take a few hours)
cd ..
sudo dpkg -i linux-*.deb
