Sticking with Ubuntu's numbering might imply to some people who don't know  
about Trisquel that it's another Ubuntu clone of sorts. Maybe the trade off  
is worth it. Maybe not. Trisquel is not just swapping out default programs.  
It's replacing core pieces that negatively impact users freedom.
