Hi all, This is an old thread, but I hope someone will be able to help. So it took me some (a lot of?) time to investigate this issue, because of various reasons, mainly lack of time. The strangest thing is that I've donated to Trisquel in the past before that issue and everything worked. I've explained that to my card issuer and PayPal. I've contacted PayPal and they've claimed that my issue is because my card issuer is not authorizing the transaction. I spoke with my card issuer/bank and they told me I have to go in one of their offices during work days, so the department of credit/debit cards and online payments can be contacted by one of their clerks and investigate the issue. So I've went. They told me the transaction have to be recent - few months had passed since my last attempt to become an associate member. I've made another attempt and went again in an office couple of days later. Then they've told me that the website is requiring credit cards while mine is a debit card. I've again contacted PayPal with this information, and they kept repeating and repeating the same old stuff, that they have nothing to do with the authorization and kept ignoring my questions and new information. After few more mails, they've told me/insisted I should call the credit/debit cards and online payments department via the phone number on the card, although I've already told them 2-3 times that I have a response from the exact same department. I've again contacted the card issuer via the requested method, and explained the hole issue and what I've done so far. I've requested a confirmation. Yet again they've confirmed that the information was correct. The transaction was refused because the requested type of card was credit card. They've informed me that sometimes configurations of (virtual) POS terminals are changed which causes such problems. I've again contacted PayPal and told them what was the response. I've asked them several times is it possible for a merchant to set allowed card types, which they ignored. And to my surprise I found out I am able to make one time donations, but I am unable to pay for the membership program with the same card. With no other options left I wrote for my issues to asociation at trisquel dot info, the address which accepts the donations for the associated membership program. After two weeks without response I forwarded the message to Ruben's personal address. Still no response. The last message I've sent at 18th of September. So, can you suggest what options do I still have? Anybody here involved in the project that he/she would be able to help?
